Privacy
Privacy, in plain words.
Keepix has no servers: photos travel from your phone straight to your own Telegram account. Below is each promise we make, why it holds, and the fine print that comes with it.
The facts
Eight facts, each with its fine print.
Your files live in a private channel in your own Telegram account.
Why it's true
Keepix creates a private, muted channel named ☁️ Keepix Unlimited Cloud Storage and stores one message per file there. The channel belongs to your account, not to us.
The fine print
The channel shows in your chat list. Deleting it in Telegram deletes the backups.
Keepix runs no servers and never receives your photos.
Why it's true
The app embeds TDLib, Telegram's own client library, and talks to Telegram directly. There is no Keepix API, HTTP endpoint or web SDK in between.
The fine print
Your data is handled by Telegram, in your account, under Telegram's own terms and privacy policy.
Nothing is uploaded unless you choose.
Why it's true
Looking at the library uploads nothing. Every backup starts from your tap: one photo or a selection.
The fine print
Adding a photo to an album also backs it up, because albums live in the channel.
Original quality.
Why it's true
The exact original file is uploaded with its real file name, never a compressed copy.
The fine print
On iPhone, edits made in Photos and the motion part of a Live Photo are not backed up.
No cap on total storage.
Why it's true
Telegram sets no limit on the total an account can store, and Keepix adds none.
The fine print
2 GB per file, or 4 GB with Telegram Premium. The allowance is Telegram's and can change.
Your Telegram session on the phone is encrypted.
Why it's true
TDLib's database is encrypted with a random 256-bit key kept in the Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain.
The fine print
The app's own library index is a plain database in the app's private storage, so not everything on the device is encrypted.
Deleted items can be restored for 30 days.
Why it's true
The Recycle Bin is on by default (Keep for 30 Days) and holds deleted photos and files for 30 days.
The fine print
The bin is kept per phone and does not sync between devices.
One library on Android and iPhone.
Why it's true
Albums and the library index live in the channel, so any phone signed in to the account sees the same library.
The fine print
Android 8.0 and newer, iOS 18 and newer.
Commitments
What we never do.
We don't overstate encryption
Your backups sit in Telegram's cloud, inside your own account. Telegram's cloud storage is not end-to-end encrypted, so your backups are as private as your Telegram account: turn on two-step verification. Your session on the phone is encrypted.
We don't run servers
There is no Keepix backend to receive your photos, files, phone number or account details. The app talks to Telegram directly.
We don't overpromise
Backups start when you tap; automatic backup is planned, not built. The storage allowance is Telegram's and can change. Keepix is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Telegram.
