Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Keepix app does with your data. The short version: your photos and files travel from your phone straight to your own Telegram account, only when you ask, and never pass through us. The app also sends analytics and crash reports so we can improve it; they never include your content.
1. Who we are
The Keepix: Unlimited Cloud Storage app (“Keepix”, “the app”) is published by [legal entity name, exactly as shown on the App Store and Google Play listings], [registered address] (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email [contact email].
Keepix uses the Telegram API to work with your Telegram account. It is an independent app: it is not made, operated or endorsed by Telegram.
2. At a glance
- We never receive your photos, videos, files, phone number, login code or messages.
- When you sign in, and when you choose to back something up, the app sends it directly from your phone to your own Telegram account. Telegram stores it under its own Privacy Policy.
- To improve the app and fix problems, the app sends analytics and crash reports. They describe the app and your device, not your content, and are not linked to your name, phone number or Telegram account.
- You can delete your backups at any time, and you can end the app's access to your Telegram account by logging out.
3. What the app does
Keepix signs in to your existing Telegram account, shows the photos on your phone in a gallery, and backs up the photos and files you choose, at original quality, to a private channel inside your own Telegram account. There are no chats, message bubbles or composer in the app.
Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to send it. Adding a photo to an album also backs it up, because albums are stored in the same channel.
4. Data the app accesses on your phone
To work, the app uses the following. Where your phone requires permission, the app asks first.
- Photos and videos in your library, to show them in the gallery and to back up the ones you choose. You can give the app access to only some photos, and it works with those.
- Files you pick yourself, to back them up.
- Your phone number, the login code Telegram sends you and, if you use one, your Telegram two-step verification password. The app passes them to Telegram to sign you in. They are never sent to us.
- Basic details of your Telegram account: your name, your username or phone number, and your numeric Telegram ID. The app shows them in Settings and uses them to manage your backup channel.
- Notifications and, on iPhone, Live Activities, to show backup progress.
The app never asks for the camera, microphone, location or contacts.
5. Data that stays on your phone
- Your Telegram sign-in session, stored encrypted on your phone.
- What the app needs to show your library, such as which photos are already backed up.
- A cache of thumbnails and downloaded files, which you can clear in Settings without deleting any backup.
- The Recycle Bin, which keeps deleted photos and files for 30 days. It is kept per phone and does not sync.
- Your recent upload history and your preferences, such as theme and sort order.
Logging out ends the session on that phone. Uninstalling the app removes its local data [confirm what, if anything, remains after uninstalling]; your backups stay in your Telegram account.
6. What the app sends to Telegram
The app connects directly from your phone to Telegram, using the Telegram API over Telegram's encrypted connection. It sends Telegram only what it needs to sign you in and to store what you back up:
- Your sign-in details: phone number, login code and, if set, your two-step verification password.
- The photos and files you choose to back up, and the backup data described in the next section.
- The technical information every Telegram app sends, such as your IP address and the device model and app version that appear in Telegram's list of active sessions.
Telegram is an independent service and the data controller for everything in your Telegram account. It decides how that data is stored, protected and kept, under the Telegram Terms of Service (telegram.org/tos) and the Telegram Privacy Policy (telegram.org/privacy). We cannot access that data and we do not control how Telegram processes it, so we are not responsible for it.
7. Your backup channel in Telegram
Backups live in a private, muted channel that the app creates in your account, titled “☁️ Keepix Unlimited Cloud Storage”. The channel is yours: it appears in your chat list, and deleting it in Telegram deletes the backups. The channel contains:
- Your backed-up photos and files, at original quality and with their original file names.
- The details the app needs to organise and restore your library, such as when each photo was taken, its size, and your albums. Anyone who can open the channel can see these details.
Telegram's cloud storage is not end-to-end encrypted. Telegram describes it as encrypted between your device and its servers and stored encrypted in its cloud. Anyone who can sign in to your Telegram account can open the channel, so turn on two-step verification in Telegram.
8. Data we receive
From the app: only the analytics and crash reports described in the next section. Keepix runs no servers of its own, and the app never sends us your photos, videos, files, phone number, login code or messages.
From the app stores: Apple and Google may give us download statistics and, if you have agreed to share diagnostics on your device, crash reports. These come from the stores under their own privacy policies and never include your photos or files.
When you email us: we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to answer you.
From this website: the site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting provider, [hosting provider], processes standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, page requested and time, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
9. Analytics and crash reports
To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, the app uses [analytics provider] for analytics and [crash reporting provider] for crash reports. These services receive:
- Device and app details: device model, operating system version and app version [and any other device details the SDKs collect, such as language or approximate country].
- How the app is used: [the events the app records, for example screens opened and backups started or finished].
- Crash reports: what the app was doing when it crashed, the error, and the state of the device at that moment.
- A random identifier for your installation of the app, so that events from the same phone can be counted together. [Confirm whether the Android advertising ID or the iOS IDFA is collected; if it is, name it here.]
This data is about the app and your device, not your content. It never includes your photos, videos, files, messages or login code, and it is not linked to your name, phone number or Telegram account. [Confirm this against the SDK settings, for example that no Telegram ID or file names are logged.]
[Describe how users can turn analytics off, for example a switch in Settings, and whether the app asks for consent first.]
10. How we use data, and why
- To provide the app. Everything the app does with your photos, files and sign-in details happens on your phone, or between your phone and Telegram, because you asked for it. Where the law requires a legal basis, it is performing our agreement with you (the Terms of Service).
- To improve the app and fix crashes, using analytics and crash reports. The legal basis is your consent where the law requires it, and otherwise our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.
- To answer your emails, based on our legitimate interest in replying to you or on steps you ask us to take.
- To run this website, based on our legitimate interest in keeping it available and secure.
We use data only for the purposes described in this policy. If we add a new purpose, we will update this policy first.
11. Who else receives data
- Telegram, directly from your phone, when you sign in and when you back something up. This is what the app is for, and it happens only when you ask.
- Our service providers: our analytics and crash-reporting providers, [analytics provider] and [crash reporting provider], our email provider, [email provider], and our hosting provider, [hosting provider]. They process the data described above for us, may use it only to provide their service, and must protect it at least as well as this policy does.
- Authorities, but only where the law requires it. We never receive your photos, files or messages, so we could not disclose them.
12. Permissions, and how to withdraw them
- iPhone and iPad: photo library, notifications and Live Activities. The app never asks for the camera, microphone, location or contacts.
- Android: photos and videos, notifications and network. The app never asks for the camera, microphone, location or contacts.
Limited photo access is supported on both platforms: you can share only some photos with the app.
You can change or withdraw any permission at any time in your phone's settings; turning one off stops the features that need it. To end the app's access to your Telegram account, log out in the app's Settings, or end the session from another device in Telegram under Settings > Devices.
13. How we protect data
Your Telegram session is stored encrypted on your phone, the app keeps its data in its own private storage, and it connects to Telegram over an encrypted connection.
No system is perfectly secure. The best protection for your backups is a secure Telegram account: set a two-step verification password and check your active sessions in Telegram from time to time.
14. How long data is kept
- On your phone: until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. The cache stays until you clear it, the Recycle Bin keeps items for 30 days, and upload history keeps the last 60 transfers.
- In your Telegram account: until you delete the backups, the channel or your Telegram account. Telegram also applies its own rules, including deleting accounts that stay inactive for the period set in Telegram's settings (18 months by default), together with everything stored in them.
- Analytics and crash reports: [retention period set with each provider, for example 14 months for analytics and 90 days for crash reports].
- Emails to us: [retention period, for example 24 months after the conversation ends], then deleted.
- Website server logs: [retention period used by the hosting provider].
15. Deleting your data
- Delete a photo or file in the app. The dialog lets you choose the phone copy, the backup, or both, and asks twice. Deleted items wait in the Recycle Bin for 30 days unless you choose Delete Forever or Empty Recycle Bin.
- Delete the ☁️ Keepix Unlimited Cloud Storage channel in Telegram to remove every backup and album at once. This cannot be undone.
- Log out or uninstall the app to remove the session from your phone, or end it from another device in Telegram under Settings > Devices.
- Delete your Telegram account in Telegram to remove everything stored in it.
- Turn off analytics [where, for example in Settings], or ask us to delete analytics and crash data by writing to [contact email].
- Ask us to delete any email you have sent us by writing to [contact email].
Keepix has no account of its own: it signs in to your Telegram account, so there is no separate Keepix account to delete. Deleting the channel removes every backup and album the app created in Telegram.
16. Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR or the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time.
For data we hold, such as analytics, crash reports and emails you send us, write to [contact email] and we will reply within the time the law requires. For data in your Telegram account, use Telegram's own tools or contact Telegram, because Telegram holds it.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
17. Children
Keepix is not directed at children. You need a Telegram account to use it, and Telegram's own age rules apply: Telegram requires users in the EU, the UK and Australia to be at least 18. Elsewhere, you must be at least [13, or the minimum age in your country].
If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete it.
18. Purchases
Nothing can be bought in the app today. If the paid Plus tier launches, payments will be handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, and we will update this policy before it goes on sale.
19. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the effective date. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will also tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect. [Confirm how users will be told.]
20. Contact
[legal entity name], [registered address]. Email: [contact email]. [If required: name and address of your EU or UK representative.]
